I easily see over 100 dogs a day and when a dog barks at me, I hit the dazer.

I have nearly worn out the battery testing this little device. I cover many routes and have tested this device over 1000 times (easily). It has worked tail-tucking-excellent on only 4 dogs. It will stop about 50% of all dogs from barking for a few seconds. And about 30% of dogs from barking as long as I hold the button.

For a postal carrier this is great because it quiets down my day, but I’d only use this as a primary defense if I had a can of mace as back up–which I do.

I also agree that it works much better on mid-size dogs. Nearly no effect on small dogs–the ones that yipe and bother me the most–darn.

Believe it!
By Boo Radley
Add me to the growing list here of people who swear by this product and are amazed at its effectiveness. It really does work, so much so that I felt compelled to tell others.

Like other reviewers, I bought the Dazer in desperation after all other methods had failed to stop my neighbors’ two Schnauzers from barking at me and my children every time we tried to use our own back yard. When I first used the Dazer on them, the dogs actually stopped mid-bark and looked at me as if I had just called them Chihuahuas. When they started to bark again, I Dazed them a second time and again, they stopped instantly. I then gave the now-silent and clearly befuddled mutts one final shot of ultrasonic goodness for good measure (heh heh), at which they turned and scurried off into their house – not in pain, but clearly annoyed at whatever sound the Dazer puts out (humans cannot hear it, nor can my two elderly dogs).

The mongrels and I repeated this scenario for two more days after this, and that did the trick. Now when anybody in my family goes into the back, they either run off or ignore us completely. Oh, they still bark sometimes, but not at us. Like John Wayne (as one reviewer put it so well), I keep the Dazer clipped to my waistband just in case I need to remind them what it sounds like. I might even have done so once or twice, but that cannot be confirmed.

I don’t know if the thing works on all dogs, or if it stops a charging dog, and I hope never to find out. I wouldn’t rely on the Dazer or any other device to protect my children from an attacking dog, anyway, as Mr. Schinzer below might. But I know this: the Dazer has made my back yard a fun and QUIET place for me and my family to enjoy once again.

Now, if it only worked on loud people…

116 of 118 people found the following review helpful.
No longer a hostage in my own backyard!
By A. M. Collier
I normally don’t make time for reviews but this item is so wonderful I want to post flyers for it throughout my neighborhood as the barking dog problem is rampant. The short version…The pros: It will quiet a barking dog with sensitive ears,it really does shut them up! The cons: It doesn’t work through walls! You have to be near the dog (w/in 50ft) for it to have an effect. Get this item if you have a barking dog problem and an inconsiderate neighbor who refuses to do anything about it.

The story: Everytime anyone used to go outside of my newly purchased house, the neighbor’s dog would bark incessantly. Not to mention the fact than anytime anything happened w/in earshot the dog would be barking. I asked the neighbor if she could do something about this and she replied, “He’s a Lab, they just bark”. Unacceptable and not true, only untrained ones do. I tried dog treats, I tried coaxing then I resorted to the hose, and all it did was raise my waterbill and make a large stripe in my lawn very green. So we built a large privacy fence (at our expense) and the barking did not stop. This “Dazer” was my last hope. So the day came to try it out (read: “the moment it arrived in the mail” comes WITH batteries!)It works exceptionally well!!!! I can’t tell you how empowering this thing is. I feel like John Wayne. To finally have something to stop the barking. It’s so peaceful when my family, friends and I go outside. If the dog starts, I walk over, aim it in the dog’s direction push and hold the button and say “Quiet”, the animal stops and runs in the house so quickly, you’d think I’d maced it. So I am covertly training my neighbor’s dog for her! I was skeptical but relieved to have a tool to bring respite to this barking phenomenon that appears to be taking over the peaceful homes of America due to socially irresponsible dog owners (don’t get me started). PS: I love animals. I have 2 well trained dogs myself, that have never needed a Dazer as I took them AND myself to dog training courses. (I’d never heard of it before until I Googled “how to stop your neighbor’s dog from barking”) Get this, if you value peace and quiet.

My property is in the Sonoran desert which is home to a huge population of Pack Rats that chew wiring, home insulation and generally tear things up. The southwest has a bit of bubonic plague and Hantavirus from time to time, too. I tried just throwing the bait in the rat holes, but the infestation continued.

Finally, about 3 years ago I surrounded the house and stables with 4 Tomcat bait stations which keeps pet safe and protects the poison from weather. Within 2 weeks I noticed dramatically less rat sign. After a few weeks, the rats were completely gone. I just refill the bait stations about once a year.

I strongly think the bait station is the key. It is much safer, too. It works great at my place.

I bought six of them at $5.00 a piece at the local discount store this summer (Joblot). They are the 2100 volt ones and work like a charm. I am planning to give them out to my friends and family at the annual July 4th party we attend.

I find these things so entertaining, I wanted to upgrade to a more powerful one. 4000 volts!! Yeahaw!!! So I took the plunge and bought the biggest and baddest fly swatter off of Amazon. I received it last night.

Me, with my 4000 volt swatter, and my wife with the $5.00 model armed up, dressed in our hunting hear, packed a few or our favorite beverages and headed out to our hammock. Sure enough the mosquito’s soon started to bombard us.

While my wife, with her $5.00 model, was killing mosquito’s left and right, I only killed one with this model. Swinging at the nasty criters, they just bounced off the racket without getting fried.

I touched the metal grate with my finger and felt the current run up my fingers, thus it was working.

Analyzing both the cheap model and this expensive model, the problem is in the metal grate screens. In order for the mosquitos to get zapped, the insect must hit both screens on the racket to get fried. Hitting one screen will not create the circuit to zap the bugs.

The cheaper models racket screen had large openings on the outer screen making the bugs easier to hit both screens to get fried. The 4000 Volt model, the screen holes are much smaller, thus the insects never touch the second screen to make an arc and become electecuted. They just bounce off the outer screen.

I was planning on returning it, but since I have to pay for shipping and a 20% restocking fee, it isn’t worth my time.

I have ordered EVERY bug zapper I could find, and this zapper hands down delivers the most devastating jolt than the rest of the zappers! As well, this zapper is reliable and is the preferred weapon of choice when going into the field. Don’t buy the other 6 kind they either break or don’t deliver the neccsary voltage consistently…More important, I have felt/tested the jolt on ALL the zappers and this one really packs a good punch!

I have been tried a few but this one is the best so far. I have battled nasty yellow jackets around my house. My son researched for bug zappers and bought it. It works fine! There is no light on it but it is not biggy. This swatter uses 2C batteries which gives off a powerful volts. Well worth the price! I am satisfied with my purchase.

Milo
When I got the traps they did not work very well. The trigger bar that went into a grove was curved up and dug into the grove. This made it hard to trigger. I ground the curved up part until the trigger bar was smooth and now the trap works great. Cut out a space with a 2×4 and now I can set it and now I have a great trap. Initially it was …
Hard to set and harder to trigger. I think in needs and elephant to trigger. Racoons and possums can’t trigger it unless you can get them to jump up and down on it. I think this trap might make it as a paper weight.
Now its great.

It works fine, although for most people’s needs I would recommend using a more humane trapping method. (when I checked the trap I couldn’t help but notice he’d chewed his own paw off trying to free himself; I’m no peta nut, but this rubbed me the wrong way a little)
But aside from that it is very cheap and reliable and very easy to use. Just set it and leave. After setting, make sure you check it often.

Haindel
I know this is a little late in the season but I had to experiment with this stuff first before I could comment on it. My daughter had a bad mosquito problem so she went to one of those “do it yourself” pesticide stores. The owner suggested a product called Bifen I/T. She tried it and the mosquito went away for weeks, so, I bought a pint. I sprayed twice this year and have not had a single mosquito bite. They are gone! I mean completely gone! What surprises me is the product does not list mosquitoes as one of the insects that it is used for. All I can say, the stuff works! I use 1 oz/ gallon and spray it on all my bushes also around any standing water. It lasts for at least a month, maybe longer if there is less rain. I cannot detect any odors or strong chemical smells at all even while mixing it.

By the way, the local insecticide store charges $40 for the same product and amount!! Go Amazon!!!

Small as they are, gophers may be a severe nuisance. The good news, though, is that you may get rid of them for good humanely. Despite what all the rodent poisons on the market imply, killing gophers isn’t a long-term solution. There will always be more to replace the ones you killed. To get rid of gophers for any length of time, you’ll need to make your property either inconceivable for gophers to get into or so unappealing that they stay away voluntarily. Doing this is having little impact than it may sound.

Get them out and keep them out

If gophers are only a problem in your flower and vegetable beds, try building raised beds. These not only make gardening easier, but when protected from beneath, they may likewise keep burrowing animals out. When you build the bed, make it gopher-proof by basi laying down a sheet of hardware cloth to cover the bottom of the bed area. Another trick is to install rhizome barriers around your planting beds. These underground barriers are ordinarily applied to integrate quickly propagating plants, but they also keep out gophers.

Gophers that are eating up your lawn, on the other hand, may be caught unharmed with live traps designed for little rodents and moved to a wilderness area. Unless you’re experienced at live trapping rodents, though, it’s best to leave this one to the professionals. Environmentally friendly pest control companies like Animal Problems? Inc., of Florida are licensed to safely remove a potpourri of animals, including gophers.

To keep gophers from returning once you get rid of them, consider building a barrier around your property. Because gophers can’t climb, a solid one-foot-high fence buried six to 12 inches into the ground around the perimeter of your property is sufficient to stop gophers from getting in.

Offend their sensibilities

The smells from your yard and garden are what attract gophers and you may get rid of the gophers again by altering those smells. Products like Mole-otov Cocktail made by Not Tonight Deer! or Whole Control Spray by Nixalite use non-toxic ingredients to make gophers favored foods unappetizing so the rodents no longer have a reason to hang around your garden. To use these products, just attach the container to a garden hose, turn the water on and spray the repellent over the gopher-populated area. Mole-Med by Gardens Alive, another rodent repellent, may be disseminate on the lawn either wet or dry.

Shake things up

Gophers have a very keen sense of hearing and sensitivity to ground vibration, so they’ll refrain from areas where there are neverending sounds and movements in the ground. Installing gadgets that invent these annoyances is a cheap and easy way how to get rid of gophers.

Sonic rodent repelling units for the garden are self-contained spikes that may be inserted into the ground to formulate noises so irritating to the gophers that they stay away. These sounds are so subtle, though, that not even dogs are bothered by them. One of the most general appliances is the Sonic Molechaser from Molechasers International. The littler model may keep an area of approximately 11,250 sq. ft. (1045 sq. meters) gopher-free and the larger one covers up to 13,500 sq. ft. (approx. 1250 sq. meters). There’s likewise a solar-powered model. This model saves batteries, but due to the solar panel, it’s a little more visible than the electronic types and it only covers up to 7,500 sq. feet (approx. 700 sq. meters).

Another sound gophers refrain from is that of their predators, owls and hawks. Electronic birdcall imitators like the Bird Sound Device available from U-Spray, Inc. may scare off gophers for 10,000 sq. ft. (930 sq. meters) around. The Bird Sound Device is triggered by a motion detector, so to use it to get rid of gophers, place it besides a light at night when the gophers are active.

How to get rid of gophers the all-natural way

Faking the sound of predatory birds may work well, but the real thing is even better. Barn owls are one of the gophers’ main predators, so if this bird is native to your area, put up a barn owl box on your property to attract a natural gopher preventative action system. The only drawback is that barn owls look for new homes only in the spring, so you may not be capable to attract one immediately.

If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly way to get rid of gophers that are snacking on your lawn and garden, you’ve got assorted lowcost and easy-to-use options. While not everyone may get a barn owl to drop by, plant barriers and smell- or sound-based gopher repellents may work just as well.

Easy Mole Trap

The Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap takes the guesswork out of trapping and eliminating moles from your lawn, yard and garden. The Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap is the most effective mole control product on the market. It does away with the use poisons or chemicals and is effective on all species of moles worldwide! Other traps on the market are difficult to use or require substantial time to set due to digging and locating the mole tunnels. Some merchandise require that they be set with sharp prongs or particular setting tongs that could hurt the person handling the trap, as well as children, pets or non-targeted wildlife. The Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap is the only mole trapping device that may be set into the mole tunnel without any digging, setting dangerous cables, spears or clamps! Simply locate the mole tunnel (ridge) and with resolute determination insert the closed jaws into the center of the tunnel until the base of the Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap is flush to the ground. Then step straight down on the setting lever to set the trap and trigger mechanism. That is it. The trap is now set. As the mole travels through the tunnel, it will push up on the collapsed portion of the tunnel where the Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap is positioned, triggering the trap and instantaneously meeting their demise! The Easy Set Mole Eliminator Trap is effective, safe to use, and without the use of poisons or secondary poisoning concerns, it is accepted for use in organic farms, ranches and nurseries.

Trus
Normally I don’t waste my time writing reviews since others have far more time on their hands. This little miracle gadget deserves a great deal of praise.

I bought two of these items with the hope that doubling down on the traps would mean faster eradication but little did I know that my mole problem would be solved in 4 days time. On day 1, I set out both traps randomly in different areas of the yard. About 4 hours later I caught my first one and wasn’t sure if it was beginners luck or if the trap was just that good. I emptied the trap out (very easy) and reset it elsewhere in the yard and went back inside. Before bed, I went outside just out of curiosity to see if I got a 2nd one but no such luck. The disappointment of two kills in such a short amount of time would not last long because when I woke up the following morning, I had caught another mole!

I reset the traps and left them in the yard but for the next 3 days I didn’t catch a thing. Perhaps this was because there wasn’t any new mole tunnels that emerged (I stomped down all the mole tunnels after the first two so I would know where new moles were burrowing). On day 4, I noticed two small tunnels reappear from where I had previously smashed the soil down and immediately I removed the two traps and placed them near to eachother in the new section where I knew a mole to be. 6 hours later I am about to get into my car to get my son from day care and I noticed that one of the traps popped up and was ecstatic. The mole must have literally just set the trap off because when I pulled it out of the ground, the mole was still squirming. I immediately got a shovel and put it out of its misery but needless to say the trap worked.

For those that have the money to throw at this, I suggest getting two of these so you can boobytrap the yard at different sections. It will certainly work fine with one but may take a few more days but the sweet smell of success knowing that there are no more of these critters tearing up your lawn is nothing short of SWEET.

For those that don’t already know this:
1) spend $3 on a box of disposable rubber gloves to handle the trap(s). They have great smell and you don’t want the oil of your hand on any part of a mole trap or they will avoid it like the plague. If you do touch it, throw it in a big pot and boil it in mild soapy water for 3-4 minutes and the smell will be gone
2) Waiting until late spring/summer means you will have to kill more moles because they give birth around April.
3) In the summertime moles will be much further underground for most of their life. They follow where the grubs and earthworms are and when the top of the soil is dry, they know not to be digging shallowly. If you plan to kill them when its dry out, wait until theres going to be a big storm and the ground gets nice and wet. The moles will come back to the surface and it will be your time to get them
4) Moles are territorial. There may be 3-7 moles in a quarter acre lot but each one of them have their own region of the lawn. Once a mole has claimed a region, it will ignore those “sonic” or “ultrasonic” stakes that they sell at the hardware store because they were there first and will fight if needed to keep their land. Once a mole is gone, the stakes may be helpful to keep new moles looking for territory away.
5) Mole sprays actually do work well on existing mole infestations and are a more humane way of dealing with them. They work by changing the flavor of the insects in the ground via active ingredients like “castor oil” and “capsicum”. These ingredients give the insects a spicy putrid flavor which encourages a mole to search for food in another lawn. If you use this spray, you likely may turn your mole problem into your neighbor’s mole problem!
One final note:
For the folks that read the review of the one user who claimed that he/she caught nothing with it and then switched to the Macabee trap and has been successful, keep in mind that this logic really doesn’t make much sense. The Macabee trap is nothing short of AWESOME but it is for GOPHERS and really not ideal for moles. They are also a total pain in the rear to set up and require staking to the ground via a chain so the gopher doesn’t run off with the trap. The point is, if you are going after MOLES, this is the device you want!

I tried the Victor Plunger type and the Victor “out of site”. I had little success with either. The plunger type was sprung quite often but only chalked up on kill. Then next year I tried the “out of site” because my children were now waking around the yard and I didn’t want them messing with the traps. To be honest I gave up on the Victor “out of site” rather quickly because I found it difficult to set and check. I let them take over the next two years but I did manage one kill with a shovel.

This summer my neighbors had their lawn re sodded and the varmints immediately started tearing it up. Critter Control showed up an set up these easy-set’s which I had never seen before. They caught quite a few but the neighbors decided they didn’t want to pay the $80 a kill any more.

I found these traps on Amazon and order 2. As claimed they are very easy to set. First kill was within 5 hours of arrival. I let them set a few day and but no more releases so I pulled them and stomped down all the trails in my yard. A few days later I saw some activity so I set both of them again. I looked out the window a hour later and one was sprung. I figured it was a false release but to my surprise I had another one.

I’ve had no false releases with these traps. Follow the instructions. If you don’t get something in 24 hours move them. Set them wherever you see activity. Don’t just leave them in some old run. Good Luck.

After using it for a few weeks, with zero results, I decided to use another trap. After several failed attempts with the Easy Set Mole Trap, I turned to the Trapline mole trap and have had great results. The Easy Set trap just appears to be too big for the size of the moles in my yard. Even though the traps were activated several times, there was never a dead mole in any of the Easy Set traps. The moles in my area appear to be much too small for the Easy Set trap, where the Trapline trap is catching moles left and right. Not only that, but the Trapline traps cost much less. If you’ve tried the Easy Set Mole Trap with no results, I urge you to try the Trapline product. Make sure to watch the videos on the Trapline website carefully on how to set and place the traps. Whichever trap you choose, good luck with your mole hunting!

P.S. The moles in my yard are digging tunnels directly above my sprinker system lines. Most of the mole that I’ve caught have been from inserting the Trapline traps in the mole tunnels directly above the sprinkler lines. These tunnels appear to be their major “highways” that are often travelled by the moles.

I also wonder if they are using enough pouches and placing them properly.

This stuff WORKS, and it worked when nothing else did. We had mice come in the winter before last and nothing we tried got rid of them – snap traps, sticky traps, poison baits, even bought the electronic “Rat Zapper” here on Amazon and it never caught a single one. We tried every bait imaginable and positioned them every which way. We eventually got 2 in snap traps; they never went near anything else. Still the mice kept coming (my home is clean, by the way, and we did seal up all potential food sources, to no avail). I found the Fresh Cab site and decided to try it as a last resort. I ordered 2 cases for good measure and placed 2 pouches in each room plus closets. It WORKED!! Not another sign of a mouse was ever seen. We replace the bags every few months and throw away the old ones as directed. I am so glad I don’t have to worry about poisons anymore nor deal with dead critters in traps (ugh!). This stuff is an absolute blessing. As for the scent, as always that will be a matter of personal preference. I happen to like it and it’s only really obvious for maybe the first week after opening a fresh pouch, so don’t let the talk of the scent deter you from trying these.

Wells
We have a 115 year old log deer hunting cabin in northern Minnesota that we use about two weeks per year. We have used every rodent poison known, but they last only until they’re eaten and don’t do anything about bats or red squirrels. I started using Fresh Cab two years ago, and I am astonished at how effective it is in using natural scents to keep the little critters out. The balsam oil and spices “air out” quickly from the cabin, and it doesn’t leave an unnatural scent on our hunting clothes. I wouldn’t have believed how effective it is. Putting a package or two in every six months takes care of the two rooms of the 600 square foot cabin.

I used the 4 packets of Fresh Cab in the car (two in the front, one in the back seat and one in the back of the Outback) for 4 days and caught 3 mice on glue traps during those 4 days. [Since I stopped using Fresh Cab, I've caught 2 more mice.]

Here’s what didn’t work, besides this product:
1. Cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil.
2. Bleach poured around the perimeter of the car.
3. Ammonia soaked rags around the car.
4. Dryer sheets.
5. A product that smells like Double Mint gum and is packaged similarly to Fresh Cab.
6. Moth balls (three boxes) sprinkled around the perimeter of the car.

What seems to work: Make a couple bucket traps place them outside the car and attract mice that otherwise would go in the car to the bucket.

Glue traps in the car work better than snap traps. If you use a glue trap, tape them to the floor so that these very sticky things don’t get flipped over and stuck to your floor mats.

Perhaps the most important advice from a lesson learned two years ago: Don’t leave any food in the car. A fifty pound bag of sunflower seeds forgotten in the trunk of an Avalon for several weeks is an especially good thing to avoid.

Hookah Wind Cover

This is a outstanding combining of a Mod ceramic hookah bowl, wind lid, and hookah bowl screen. No longer do you need a wind cover when smoking your hookah. Additionally, the closed lid traps heat inside the bowl, increasing the efficacy of your hookah charcoal. The reusable steel bowl screen is distinctively designed to fit tightly over the bowl so that the lid closes up flush with the screen and with resolute determination latches closed. Caution: Once in use this product’s latching mechanism becomes very hot; you may want to use tongs or an oven mitt when lifting the lid to prevent yourself from being burned. The mod clay bowls are available in assorted colors for easy coordination with your hookah. Because the bottom opening is somewhat wider than other hookah bowls, you may also want to pick up a Mod Bowl Grommet which is thicker than most bowl grommets and will concede this bowl to fit more securely on non-Mod Hookahs.

They both work pretty good but get EXTREMELY hot when in use. These bowls are definitely for bigger hookahs.
